+420 549 49 3603 jakub.hlavka@econ.muni.cz Jakub Hlávka works at Masaryk University, where he heads the Institute for Health Economics, Policy and Innovation (HEPII) at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. He mainly deals with topics in the field of health economics, including the aging of the population, approaches to modern medicines and issues of health inequalities. He worked for a long time in the United States, where he still teaches at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He is also the founder of the Initiative for Effective Healthcare, which is dedicated to analyzing data on the Czech healthcare system and preparing recommendations for its more efficient functioning. In the past, he worked on projects for the US Departments of Health and Defense, NASA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He has other experience in the private and public sector in the Czech Republic, the USA, Germany and Great Britain.
